Harold Ramis overlooked classic is on RTE 2 tonight, described by roger Elbert as "an anarchic slob movie, a celebration of all that is irreverent, reckless, foolhardy, undisciplined, and occasionally scatological".

Following on in the tradition of the airplane thread, seems like it is perfectly suited to the tastes of AH.

Hmmm, just saying.......but if she saw it and assumed it was porn, it's not a long strech to assume that it's her idea of what she likes to watch herself.....

    feckin' filthy

    :P

    "Are either of you homosexuals?"
"No we're not homosexuals, but we are willing to learn"

My favorite quote from the movie.

When I went to New York a few years ago and it didn't quite look like the New York of 80s movies like this or ghostbusters I was a little disappointed

Just count yourself lucky she didn't walk in on you all while you were watching in anticipation for this marvelous scene by the fireside that everyone has been going on about from the movie Women in Love.

Man, that would have been awkward.

Class film, well worth a watch, seen it first in my teens. John Candy, Bill Murray, Judge Reinhold.... classic.

"Fort Arnold" was filmed in Fort Knox. I did Basic there nearly two decades after the movie was filmed, and though the white barracks buildings had been all-but-deactivated and roads around them turned into a running course (they are now gone entirely), the obstacle course remained in exactly the same condition as it was when the filming was done, and we were admonished to not be worse than the movie cast were! CIF, (Central Issueing Facility) where they got their gear issued was the exact same building I got mine.

It's considered a must-watch movie in the US Army. Drill teams will occasionally perform the razzle-dazzle, such as the Ft Knox Honor Guard in the Ft Knox theater last month for the 35th Anniversary party.

    Well everyone has personal preference.
To me he was a great comedic actor. But if I am to be honest his best work was the 80s. Of course groundhog day and kingpin were great 90s movies from him. But even kingpin is 20 years old.

I got into to see this when I was 13, and saw my first pair of tits on screen. Happy days

If you haven't seen it, check out his cameo in Zombieland. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen with him in it
