    Hi
I got orf on my face last week.
It's a right big spot under my chin.
It's as big a marble and as wide as the old punt coin.
Has anyone ever herd of a way of getting rid of it

    all help needed

    sorry bout that.
orf is a herpes virus so is cold sores so use a cream for that.
I do not get cold sores but my sister does and she uses tincture of propolis you can also get propolis cream which may be better as it will keep surface from drying out and cracking.can be got in good chemists
    sudocream if propolis not available
also take multi vitamin and mineral supplement with iron and vit e
    drink lots of water.
do not share towels etc with other family members .

as a warning to others do not go trying to cure orf on lambs just let the condition run its coarse (approx three weeks)

Sorry derferjam, I'm going to have to close his one too. :( Best thing you can do is go to see a doctor, if it's bad on your face he can rescrbe something that would hopefully leave no mark afterwards. I wouldn't want to chance using basic mixes for sheep on my own face!!

Orf in humans can be nasty so there's no real option but to consult a doctor.

A lot of doctors would not be familiar with Orf so knowing what it may be will be advantage to you.

Seeking medical advice is not allowed on this site so I'm closing this thread. Best of luck with your recovery.
