Hi folks am down here for a few days in Lismore. I'm lookin for a nice trail for tomorrow's long run - 10 miler. It doesn't have to be 10 miles long, I can work that bit out.

I did 8 miles over the 10k Glenshelane trail in Cappoquin today - wow that was as tough as I've done, lots of long hills on the 3 mile trek away from the car park. It's a bit overgrown though in spots and with the briars it's a bit neglected - has great potential . Anyway am lookin for something else for tomorrow.....

If you're on Facebook, Waterford Trail Runners have a page and they should have suggestions. If you like mountains, you could try the Knockmealdowns from either if the car parks near the Vee. There is an IMRA run in the Comeraghs tomorrow, site is down the last few days but again the IMRA page on Facebook will have details.

Will try fb so Conor thanks for that info.

Re the 'if you like mountains', I'm from flat county Meath so hills are few and far, can't say I like them but I'll adopt them for the holidays

Just a n update post for posterity, I did my run on the colligan woods trail in dungarbhan (bumf said to travel 4km nth twds clonmel from the master McGrath monument on the n72 but 2km max would have been more like it, turn right there and park after 1km). Failed to pay attention to the map given, so missed out on 50% of the trail but still got myself 10 miles including 2 memorable one mile hills. Trail was in good nick for running, even sublime along the river sections. Beautiful spot.

Nice run in the Comeraghs today. Was only about 7.5 km long but included a nice climb up towards Knockanaffrin and a flying 2 km descent from there to the finish across nice springy peat.
