Leaving a TCO role before contract is up....

Hi Guys, So offered a TCO role for 6 month contract and I was planning to accept it.

However I'm also in the final stages of other full-time permanent, better paid roles of 3 firms plus engaged with the ICO roles on public jobs among others.

Obviously I plan to jump ship if I'm fortunate enough to get one of the better paid, permanent roles. I was wondering if this has created issues in the past for others or do they expect this to happen.

    Advice much appreciated.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. The management in my last Department were fairly flexible when I left my TCO role for another job. I don't know what Department you're going to be with, but I doubt it will be a major issue, unless you want to leave in less than two weeks. You could even ask them yourself about giving notice, etc., without mentioning specifically that you have other jobs in mind.

At the end of the day, it's a temporary role and the management can't blame people for seeking permanent employment.

They expect it to happen. People leave temp jobs because they get better ones all the time.

You'd be mad not to leave the TCO for a permanent job.

No-one would expect you to stay in a temp job in those circumstances.

Congratulations on your success thus far - I hope you get offered a permanent job, and it goes well.
