We are redecorating the living/dining room and have settled on a 3-seater and 2-seater. We also want a feature armchair and have struggled to find one.

Came across this in DFS that ticks a lot of boxes.

It's €800 though!! Is this madness or what. I could surely buy an antique for that money, that will hold it's value maybe?

Why is it so dear can anybody explain. This will be next to worthless in 10 years time I imagine. What's the reasoning behind this. Surely paying a weeks wages for a piece of furniture should get you something that will be a bit of an investment, no?

Firstly I'll start by saying DFS is overpriced in my opinion for what it is and I'm not particularly fond of their furniture. However, that's a plain armchair basically, assuming that it's good quality which it should be at €800 it will last for years. Yes will that fabric go out of fashion of course but you can get it reupholstered in whatever fabric you want really when you decide to change your decor.
