Sound and heat insulation

I'm converting my attic but the pitch of my roof is very low, as is our budget. Therefore space is a premium. The insulation that exists is regular rolled fibre glass but it takes up all the room and still hasn't met modern insulation requirements. I'm looking for a thin insulation material that heat and sound insulates. Anylon suggestions to narrow down the search?

It's a bungalow. The attic is joisted for a stairs and hass an existing staire in place. It was built about 10 years ago and the insulation requirement had gone up since then...I can't remember the exact mm depth it is. It needs additional insulation anyways.
I really want to get the noise proof stuff. It's already a noisy house

Well you will have a tough time with the sound, I first looked at sound in 1974/75 and I am still learning about it in domestic houses.

Why do you say the house is already noisy?

Re the insulation, so you want to covert the attic, so where is the new insulation going to go.
    This document might help
