Solicitor fees

We are purchasing a house. We had our solicitor picked when we were looking for houses.

She gave us a quote for the entire "job" - with a bit of a discount as my other half Is friendly with her firms boss.

We have to meet with her on Wednesday to discuss some things about the purchase. Should this meeting be covered in the fee she will charge us for the overall conveyance of the house? or are meetings like that extra? We had some questions and she suggested calling into her or a phone call but we went for a meeting so both of us could be there.

Its our first time buying a house so its all new to us and thankfully have not had need for a solicitor before this.

It would be usual for a reasonable amount of communication (meetings/calls/emails) to be included in the set fee.

That would be my view too - we have only called her twice since this all started so I guess we are not serial offenders!

Shouldn't cost you anything extra, it's all agreed for closing balance. I think I met my solicitor once and that was it. I had some communication over email for one or two queries.
