    Hi,

One of my rear shocks (2010 Audi A4 TDI) is starting to leak so I'm going to replace both. Do I just need to replace shock or are there any other parts that I should replace if replacing shocks?

Just the shocks and replace on both sides as you said to make sure there's no imbalance :)

Any brand recommendations ? There's a big variance in prices online

Price and quality go hand in hand so as a rule, you get what you pay for.

Personally, I'd look at a set of Sachs for that

What are Optimal & Meyle Shock absorbers like?

    Maybe lemforder shocks?
Go with a brand you have heard about and you're probably ok.

You can find some info by searching boards like so

I recently got Meyle brand rear shocks for a Megane. Not much to say about them really, they were cheap and seem to do the job. Did the NCT wit them - the Mm readings were low 50s.
