    Hello...

Well,I am a mum of a 5yr old girl . Our family will be relocating to Dublin by August 2016.And we are super excited about it.

I had some doubts about our stay there.. Hope you all here will help me...

    * My Husband will be working from Dublin 1. Through daft.ie and rent.ie,I like apartments and houses in Dublin 4,Dublin 8 , Dublin 9.
My DD will be eligible for primary schools in Dublin. Can you suggest me some good schools? I want a mixed christian school?
    * I want to work in Dublin. Is it easy to find jobs there?

I am sure you will help to decide a right school for my DD.Thanks in advance!!

You'll struggle to get a mixed Christian school. They're like hens teeth in the city. The Catholic schools all tend to be single gender.

In terms of schools, it really does boil down to where you live. What class will your daughter be going in to? Classes are also stuffed to capacity so you might not get your first choice school.

And finally. It entirely depends on what job you want to do as to how easy it is to find work. Are there jobs? Yes. Are there flexible jobs that work around school hours? Few and far between.

You may not a choice in schools, as many Dublin schools are oversubscribed, you may have to take what you get. Schools are now closed for the holidays and will re-open at the end of August/1st Sept so you have left it extremely late.

Hello ... Thank you for replying.I know we are realllllllyyy late as the schools reopens by Sept 1st.
And I am sooooo worried about a good school for my girl.

I thought of getting some good reviews on schools, and then start sending applications there..

I am a stay-at-home mom as of now. I had worked earlier as Human Resource Agent at a couple of companies. So if I get something n the same lines and around school timings would be really great.

    Please advice !!

Most schools in Ireland are Catholic but we have some multi(educate together) and non denominational schools but it is often the case that a childs name has to be down at birth to get a place.
The area that you mention is a very wide area and and can be very expensive to live in so even a lot the private schools will have long waiting lists.

    will help you find schools.

Children need legally to be enrolled in school or registered as home schooled by the age of 6.
If schools are full they can not make space but sometimes it is the case that children don't turn up in Sept and a place becomes available and there maybe schools that do not have a long waiting list.

Each school sets their own enrollment criteria and some schools with have it on their website.
The school secretary in our school is usually there through August so it is worth ringing and e-mailing schools.

It is really hard to get jobs around school time for Junior infants usually about 9:00-2:40 or 9:20 - 3:00 but many schools offer after school services.

There's a new educate together opening in Greenhills in September, you can pre-enroll online.
