Any one using sheep electric netting.

Using it here 150 metres of it to divide up a 14 acre reseeded field of heavy grass. Can't keep power in it fence drop for 5k volts to 2k with the netting on.

Fencer is a cheta super mains powered supposed to do 32km of wire.

Do I need power in the netting or will sheep chew it like cattle.

    They aren't going through it.

    Thanks

yea, using it at the moment and yea, it does drag down a fences power,,
Have you good earths, I've used up to 400 mtrs on a one joule battery fence and managed to keep the power near 3000volts. 400 mtrs of sheep netting has 3kms of wire in it. I've four earth bars two mtrs apart.
I'm using 150mtrs at the moment and there's 4000 volts in it in heavy grass. It needs power in it, it gets into an awful mess if they get their head caught in it if it stops working

strip grazing weaned lambs here with 3 strands of heavy white cord & a battery fencer, so far no break outs

Yep I they look a real good job.

The netting it hard handled and real killing the power.

I have 2 earth bars maybe I need more.

I am using 4 rows of standard wire also but I just find it slow to put up.

I have both . I feel you need to have mains so you feel safe that they won't break out. Smatlrtfence is a good bit dearer though . I divided my last bit of the field with white stakes and two lines white of wire

That's what Im doing here too. Before I needed it I set up a piece 10 or 15 yds long in the middle of the field so they got used to it. It's even keeping the horned lambs in!
