Where can I buy a longer optic cable for my router?

Hi there, I have Virgin media and the tech person installed the router in one corner of the house. The signal on the other side of the house is rather poor. I know I can get a wi-fi booster but I was thinking, if I could get a longer cable, I could put the router on the side of the room closest to the middle of the house so the signal works better. Can cables like these be purchased? And where?

    thanks!

Are you on Lightspeed or regular Vodafone at home? If the latter you don't want to do this.

Does the cable have a spike in the middle of it?

You should be able to get some in power city.

Not sure which I am on. I am with virgin media so how do I check that and why wouldn't I want to do it?

Oops I misread Virgin as vodafone.

What you want is called coaxial cable or "antenna" cable. Powercity is a good recommendation.

Isn't fiber optic cable different to antenna cable?

Yes, it is. Which is why fibre optic cable is not what you want.

Fibre only goes as far as your locality, nowhere near the house.
