I was just having a look at some cars there, and for some Golfs Bill is nearly €2k lower than other dealers for similar cars, give or take a bit of mileage.

Are other dealers bogging their arms in with their prices, and Bill being realistic? I would guess he'd offer for sweet FA for trade-ins compared to other dealers though?

My experience with them is theyre all about the quick turnover. Ive been a couple of times and the cars weren't even washed. Not a massive deal but personally id bring a mechanic with ya

You'll get mixed reviews from people, but their customer service skills can leave a lot to be desired depending on who you meet. Cars are often boxed in on the roof so no test drives available some days. Just have a quick search on here & you'll find plenty of opinions both good & bad.

A bit like budget airline prices v the others. Some people just want the bottom line price and are not fussed about how they get to their destination while others like to be pampered.

Used cars cost money to turn around for resale which is going to be factored into their selling price. That garage may just invest very little in preparing the cars for resale or after sales. Some buyers may like the just here to buy the car not the dealer while others want the full dealer experience.

High volume at lower margins = quicker turnover I'd guess is their tactic. Keep the cars moving as opposed to having them priced higher and sitting on the forecourt (or roof in his case) for months.

Must work for them, been there for years now.

Prices are great, never got as far as checking out cars thoroughly as sales staff are pretty obnoxious.

Most of his newer stock appear to be cars with high mileage perhaps contributing to the lower than average asking prices.

I have dealt with him in the past and all went fine, but you need to fully check over what you are buying. Some cars there are rough enough.

Al lot of his newer stuff is ex rental, so hence higher mileage - you will see he has a batch of cars with pretty much sequential regs.

Is it just me or am I the only one that thinks the prices aren't cheap at all?

Looking there now most of the cars are very high mileage - basically the newer cars seems to be ex lease company cars or ex rental cars and as such with a price that seems to match the life they had. Also a lot of U.K. imports that look good value but in line with current sterling to euro fx and prices available in main dealers in the U.K.!

I was there the other day, I've €20,000 for a car and the salesman was just obnoxious and dismissive.
I sat in two Audi' and both were filthy dirty with huge mileage. I just don't understand why cars are dirty as first impression is key. Plus all the cars are bundled in on top of each other so u can't really look at it.
Then your man "salesman " says to me that it's a ex lease car but he hadn't a clue who from.
I was like u expect 20k for a dirty car u don't know where it came from.
I got a bad vibe in there and seems very unprofessional. I'd rather pay more to a proper garage.
Too many unprofessional garages in Dublin with idiot salesmen.
