I was hoping someone who has done this Ordinary degree course could let me know their thoughts on it.
I have been accepted into year 3 of the part-time course as I completed the IATI, however that was roughly a decade ago when I was just out of school so I feel that I have forgotten most of it (particularly accounting and Taxation subjects) and that I will almost be starting from scratch so am worried about the workload and also possibly being thrown in the deep end.
Does anyone know if the lectures start off assuming all accounting procedures covered previously are fresh in your memory or are you eased into it? Also would you recommend any areas I should revise/brush up on before starting?
Any advice on the course in general would be appreciated too!

Hi fanningb I did the accounting degree in Tallaght from 1st to 4th year. Subjects like tax and audit only really start in year 3 so they will be fine. In relation to financial accounting while the course is at an reasonable pace knowledge of the previous two years would be expected. I cannot at this stage remember what is covered in semester 5 in accounting but your best bet might be to give the college a yell and discuss it with them.

In relation to brush up I would focus on knowing debits and credits and also practice a few income statements and balance sheets to get the feel for them.
