Quick TV Licence Query

    Hi all,

Our TV licence expired yesterday. I'm just about to renew it but had a quick question.

We cancelled our Virgin TV subscription a few months ago. We only have broadband and we only watch Netflix. Are we still required to pay the licence?

Am I right to assume that the licence is tied to the device whereby if you own a TV you have the capability of watching live television therefore you must have a licence?

Also, should I wait until Aug 1 to renew?

Renewal will go from the date the last one expired so no point in delaying.

Yep - that's my understanding too - once you've got a TV you pay a license regardless of what you use it for.

Yes, you must buy a licence if you have a device capable of receiving a signal.
