Hi. I've a job interview tomorrow with Topaz for a position for evening/night shift. I'm super nervous. Is there anything I should expect if anyone has previous experience? Also does anyone know the wage as it wasn't disclosed, but according to google it's only €8.65 an hour? That couldn't be right as the minimum is €9.15 , thanks.

Its €9.15 and the interview is pretty straight forward, maybe research the company, it has recently been bought over by new owners. They asked me if I knew anything about the company in my interview

Wouldn't think a company like topaz would be on minimum wage, is it a good company to work for I wonder, I've been googling and there's more negative reviews of former employees than positive, only positive seems to be you get free coffee!

If you sneeze and serch the internet, you will find you are goliung to die.

Basically the internet will tell you whatever you wish to hear and people with a gripe will always post up online where if you haven't a gripe, its unlikely you will post.

Topaz is owned by Couche-Tard , a massive Canadian company with fuel retail service stations worldwide.

Main european brand name is Circle-K. Initially it was thought it would rebrand to Circle K here, but that's now on the long finger as the Topaz & ReStore names are strong in Ireland and most locations were refitted quite recently.

As a company, they'd be like any major retailer. Shop staff deal with local shop or area manager. Its the quality fo these managers and how you get on with them that will decide whether you like the job or not.

Its minimum wage and many staff stay a year or two (as is norm for ground level retail jobs) and either progress up within the company or move on.

What they will want to know

1 - are you dependable (on time, no history of taking sick days)
2 - Are you trustworthy - you are handling their cash.
3 - Are you a pleasant manner - basically are you someone who will be nice to their customers and smile.
4 - How will you get to work (night shift may not be great for public transport)

Everything else can be trained into you.

I agree with the above comment, Enjoying the position really does depend on the site that you are on and your manager! . . .there is lots of progression within the company and I think a pay increase after you are there 6 months
