Can someone please advise me on the best ventilation for an old Stone Wall House. Nothing there as present.

Idea being to rid/ limit damp and condensation.

Is it as simple as burrow a hole, put in tubing and cover at either end? Surely not.

One thing I can tell you is that putting anything through an old stone wall my be challenging.

What you often find is only the outer and inner sides of the wall have any mortar in them in between is rubble, it starts out well but as you get past the mortar the wall crumbles into your hole from above.

Mine are 2 feet thick ,and it takes a while... I really only had to do the cooker hood vent .. long masonary bit on a very heavy drill and dilled out multiple holes in a circle ...( worked from both sides of the wall), then hammer and long
chisel. I put a 4inch pipe through it and used a can of expanding foam to fill in (couldnt get my hands in when the pipe was in)
At its simplest stick a vent cover over each end.
Fancier vent covers available that are humidity controlled ect .. but you'll still need the hole...
Have you already got trickle vents on windows ?

    Thanks for those pointers folks!

No, I haven't got Trickle Vents on the windows. Great suggestion Markcheese! I must investigate. Guessing a window specialist might be able to install them aftermarket.

My3cents. Nice point out that. I've no idea what my walls are made of. Fair play, a little investigation first before I start burrowing.

I saw reading around the web plenty mentioning AIRBRICKS. Those arent present either. Necessary?

    Thanks again. Invaluable help. Cheers.
