Learning makeup beauty-bootcamp vs mac lessons

    Hi,
I do not know how to really wear make up to suit me, you know the natural looking makeup with contouring etc. So I was thinking of taking up lessons in Dublin.

    Either:

Beauty bootcamp (.ie) make up lessons for €48

Or the Mac makeup lessons that you'd get in Brown Thomas in Grafton street

    ??

Has anyone tried either service? If so, what did you think?

    Thank you!!

There is such a wealth of knowledge available for free on YouTube that I would recommend learning there rather than through a course.

I have done friends make up for weddings and events, and have been offered money by family friends to do their make up and I'm entirely self taught with a bit of YouTube thrown in. There really is so much information available there.

The mac lessons are redeemable against purchases if I remember correctly, so their a great idea IMO but after that I would definitely recommend you tube, blogs etc

A third vote for youtube from me! If you want to learn all you need is some free time and practice! You want to look out for the term 'sponsored video' because that means they got the stuff sent out to them for free and will feel obliged to 'like' it but these ones I'm recommending are the real deal, professionals and I love to watch them.

If you have free time in the evening just start messing around and putting on makeup before you'd be cleansing your face anyway! That way you feel no pressure! To learn how to do eyeliner I just put it on every evening before I cleansed, I had a shaky hand but got it now :)

Some of my No 1 favourites would be:

    Pixiwoo sisters

Lisa Eldridge - brilliant, a wealth of knowledge. Never been led astray by her in years!

Our very own Irish Siobhan - always brill, so talented and so likeable! I did my friend's wedding makeup using her tutorial after a few practices - my skill level is just average, self taught from youtube.https://www.youtube.com/user/LetzMakeup

Caroline Hirons - for skincare mainly, I love her & she's so funny!

All these ladies know what they're doing and watching them just brightens my day. Totally recommend!

Almost forgot - Wayne Goss :D

    and

    Sali Hughes :)

To any product junkies that haven't seen Sali's 'In the bathroom with X'. Series you seriously should - absolutely brill! I binge watched the lot of them last week on holidays :D They root through the guest's stash and just have a chat, loved them.
