Pretty funny film, much better than recent comedies like Trainwreck or Sisters. Kathryn Hahn is hilarious.

But, the circumcision scene...ugh. Disgusting views expressed in that scene. A lot of American women have some weird beliefs about child mutilation. It'll be interesting to see how audiences react to that scene outside of America.

One of the worst pieces of crap I have ever had the displeasure of seeing.

It's horrendous and unbelievably at the end, as the credits roll, the female cast are individually interviewed along with their mothers. Which was grand in and of itself but I felt this was sort of implying that we had just seen a film of note, which had something interesting to say, but we hadn't and so it all seemed a tad odd and very much misplaced snf yeah I know, I'm not the demographic this film is aimed at but I tend to like a lot of films that aren't aimed at me, or made with my sensibilities in mind and I'll enjoy them nonetheless.

Love Kathryn Hahn and Christina Applegate, and if not for their presence in this film, I would have walked but pains me to see them in such junk. The "humour" reminded me of the kind of discourse you see misandric feminists engaging in online, thinking they're being hilarious, and so I'd expect they might love it. So unless you're one of those people who think Amy Schumer is an important voice in the world today, avoid like the plague.

The circumcision "jokes", well obviously a Hollywood film is going to normalise this, given the demographics there. Can you imagine the reaction if a group of men laughed about female genital mutilation in the same manner? They would be torn limb from limb.

The circumcision stuff didn't bother me so much as I was aware that is how a lot of women feel, as going back a long way now I recall friends that went and got circumcised just because of negative feedback they had been getting from women in that regard.

More annoying for me was how on one hand the characters all went around assaulting and groping men (it's a comedy, so no big deal) but yet still saw fit to have Mila's character lecture her ten year old son on how he must be taught to work around the home otherwise he would just grow up to be yet another privileged white guy that doesn't treat women very well.

got around to seeing this last week.

i put it off so long because , well i was expecting a man hating fest, which seems to be the core of so many "chick comedies" these days (thank you paul feig)

but i have to say l loved this. ok theres one or two digs at men but in the main it just concentrates on the travails of motherhood and the preasures of parenting and THATS where the comedy mainly comes from.

it was actually LOL levels of good in places with a good healthy level of soppy mushieness to boot.

8/10 from me. one of the better comedies of the year.
