Hi, I am looking for advice on whether what I am considering is anyway doable or if anyone has actually done this.

I have a BCL and am staring a LLM this sept but I am also aiming to sit the KI entrance exam in 2017. The plan is to compete my thesis as quickly as possible so as I can begin the KI exams study. I am thinking that if all goes well I may have 6 to 8 weeks study time.

Mad ? Any thoughts much appreciated. Due to circumstances I am under time constraints to complete the masters and enter KI as quickly as possible.

I'm not completely clear on why study for each needs to be mutually exclusive.

Thanks Markanthony for your reply. I may have phrased my query loosely. What I am trying to ask is whether it is sensible to complete my masters while also studying for the entrance exam. I suppose i am worried i will be caught between two stools so to speak and end up doing badly at both !
Just wondering have many done this and found it quite workable. Thanks again.

FWIW, when I was in college doing my masters (2007) a number of my classmates sat all 8 FE1 exam...possibly over 2 sittings, but still. It is possible, as long as you're disciplined.

    Hiya,

I hope the LLM goes well for you.

I have just completed my LLM last week, just sent in my thesis. I am doing kings inn next year.

Two people in my class attempted that and it did not work out, one needed to defer the thesis to study for the kings inns and one deferred the kings inns in the end.

The study is different- different topics. And you are studying while working on your dissertation so it can be tiring. I know one person from my class finished his thesis early in the year but if it's a topical issue you need to work on it right until the deadline date to ensure you have all of the relevant information.

I would recommend trying it. For you personally it may work and if you need to defer any element in the end you can. But be prepared for the work load.

My LLM was in international law so totally different from the kings inns subjects if yours is more in line with it then this may help with your study.

    Best of luck with it.
