More Reports, More attacks or More aware?

Just wondering if more attacks in the westeren world are getting reported on or there are actually more attacks in the western world or both are at the same level they have always been and we are more acutely aware of attacks in the western world...


Off the top of my head, I remember reading about

a stabbing in Sweden,
hostage situation in a church in France,
a doctor getting shot in Germany,
disabled hoem getting attacked in Japan,
shooting at teen disco in US,
a woman getting attacked with a machette in Germany,
shootings at shopping centre in Munich,
Truck into the crowd in Nice,
Shooting at the gay club in Florida,
Airport bombing in Brussels,
Paris Attacks,
...

And I'm sure I've already forgotten about a few too

I've notifications set up on my phone for a news paper ... at this stage, every notification is some new horrific attack on innocent people.
