GERD and choking when drinking?

Hello, I have GERD and hiatial hernia - was diagnosed years and years ago. Last year it got really bad, couldn't sleep with burning and couldn't eat due to digestion problems - scopes showed I had grade A oesophagitis and IBS which was OK as they were suspecting chrohns ... It was also found I'm allergic to dairy which irritates my IBS (that and wheat although coeliacs come back negative)

Just a slight background of my family history with GERD - My dad had Barrett's oesophagus that turned cancerous last year, he got his surgery to repair the damage due to oesophagitis around 15 year ago, and only 6 weeks ago he underwent major surgery to remove most of his oesophagus due to the severe damage the cancer caused. He is fine now.

After all my testing last year including ph testing and talks about surgery, it was decided to leave me for another three years which was very upsetting. As I'll need to go through it all again for another "few years". At the moment I'm on 80mg of emazole and ezmaprazole depending on what the doctor prescribes!

Anyway lately I've noticed that I tend to choke a lot when I drink, especially fizzy drinks ... I know, I know I shouldn't drink them in the first place. Tonight I choked after I drank and then vomited ....

Anyone with GERD have the same problem? I'm hesitant to bother my doctor with this as I'm worried he will just think I'm a hypochondriac.

I'm also experiencing daily migraines. Don't think there's a connection there however, it's just annoying when I have a migraine all day and I'm kept up at night with burning :pac:

Edit to add: I've developed a rash on my hands and a lot of acne on my chest, buttocks and back the last 2/3 weeks .... Dont know if it's relevant but I wonder is there something bothering my ibs causing this ... I'm constantly tired but sure what's new there ... Or is it linked to the GERD flaring up as it has been the last few weeks.

Any change in symptoms should be discussed with your relevant doctor/consultant who will be able to advise.
