Fibre Rollout in my area HCX1_001

So there was a couple of Eir people working on a box up the road from me the last few weeks, and lo and behold it was for the fibre rollout. The green box, which I'm assuming is one of the cabinets, (and seems to be code HCX1_001) has some stickers on it saying fibre is here.

Now I checked on www.eir.ie/broadband/coverage-map/ and its saying that this box is "Within 1 year"

But on http://fibrerollout.ie/where-and-when/ it says "HCX1_001 Fibre Build commenced - completion work is in progress"

So it dosn't seem to be live yet, I was just wondering how much longer till my house will be able to get onto it.

And finally, we live 1.8km south from the box according to google maps (distance by road, not as the crow flies)[The entire south line is 2.3km long in total] So I was just wondering what speeds we should be expecting, currently the eir.ie site says that we can get "Speeds of up to 4Mb are available at your home" [However this is closer to 2Mb in reality]

I can give our house phone number in a PM if it helps. We're all very excited to be able to stream video without it buffering the whole time)

Thanks for getting in touch. I have checked our latest deployment plan and we have estimated cabinet HCX1_001 will go live October 2016.
I'm afraid we would be unable to advise on the speeds you be able to receive until the service is active on your line.

OK that's great, October can't come fast enough.

Just one more question, does the line automatically change to the higher speeds, or do we have to contact eir and upgrade our package?

No problem  kirkfx,
You would need to contact the sales team to upgrade to the service. A technician visit would be required.

Hi so I'm back again. The cabinet appears to be live but the eir website tells me that I can only get 4mb. Do eir send out marketing letters in the post when the service is available?
