Looking after frogs in the garden

I have frogs in the garden who seem to have kept pests/insects in check, especially among the raspberries. I've unfortunately disturbed one of their hiding places (not a water location) - in the cavity of some concrete blocks. I've already provided a watered area but I want to be sure they can have a safe place to discuss the day's business.

PM Dan Donaher at Kildare Animal Foundation. He does wildlife rescue and can give you pointers on providing a frog friendly habitat. You can find them on facebook

if you can, you should leave an area of lawn unmown, or an area of 'undergrowth' for them to shelter in.

Thanks for both replies. There's quite a considerable amount of "unmown" grass in the garden along with overgrown nettles and other weeds. I've suspected they've been using that feature to provide camouflage. But where I've disturbed them is within 2 metres of the house and I'd like to be able to rehouse them in the wilderness further down the (large) garden. I plan to instal a proper pond later this year along recognised principles. However, I'd like to try and save these fellas from other predators and the elements.

In that case, set up a few log piles around the property. That'll give them somewhere to hide
