    Hello Folks,
I have a Phonewatch Simon Xt panel and the user code for same. The SIM card has expired and I need to replace and reprogram for new numbers etc.
Tried to set panel back to factory default by holding 4 buttons on front and tamper switch ( after disconnecting mains and battery).
Holding all buttons and switch I reapply the mains power however it does not reset to default. I have the installers manual and following that.
Any ideas? Appreciate any feed back.
    Model 60-916-CP-03-IE

Seems like "phone lock" is on. How can I disable it ?

If Phone Lock is enabled on the panel you will need specialist tools/knowledge to remove it unfortunately which only a few PSA licensed companies and the manufacturer have.

Have you any idea what code you used? If its set to the PW defaults it'll be 5 Digits.

    Thanks for the info Dave.
No I have no idea what code was used.
Don't know if previous owner changed it.
Tried all combinations I could think of..
It's a nuisance at the moment as it beeps during the night and I have to reset.
I will play with it a bit more.

    Thanks again,

    Hi Cerco,

When you hit the i button(far right button under screen) whats it saying? Have you managed to gain access to Installer mode? Dealer mode is the one you need to change phone numbers but you can do alot in installer mode like silence those beeps. I may be able to help get some of the issues your having resolved.

Thanks Dave. It is showing a GSM communications fail.
Not surprising since sim is no longer registered. Checked in phone.

No luck with codes. I have silenced it now for 12 hr periods.
I will just pull the power & battery till I decide what to do.
    Pretty useless anyway without monitoring.

    Hi Cerco,

Go into Siren Options-> Trouble Beeps and switch them off thatll disable the annoying beeps. I'll lock one of these panels and see what I can come up with for you over the weekend there might be a work around I just haven't gotten time right now to check.

    Thanks,

The dreaded Dealer Code.Such a shame too.A Simon XT defaulted complete with kit sold on Adverts.ie for eur100 this week.May have been a cheap and easy way to resolve your problem.

In the meantime the "brute force" method of just under 10,000 combinations while you're waiting for a reply if the bank holiday weather goes bad.

From what I hear, 0 is the most popular starting number of a four digit code. It certainly looks that way when you check the wear on a keypad on an ATM.

Yes the Simon panel is a 5 digit code. 12x11x10x9x8. Of course you can nearly bet the first digit is 0 lol

Managed to get into the installer programming mode. I silenced the beeps.
Just need to get new sim and set it up when I get a chance.
    Thanks for assistance.
    Cerco.

I have now programmed in the sensors and tested them. All working fine. I set up my mobile as Phone 1.
When I perform a Comms test it rings my mobile. I answer and hear a background hum. It then hangs up. Message on panel GSM OK. It then rings about ten times and eventually gives a Communications failure. What am I doing wrong? I answer each time it rings.
I can dial into it and enter the code and it tells me system is down.
The system is disarmed while testing.

    Thanks.

As soon as you answer and when the beeps stop press the * and the # keys on your phone. That acknowledges that you have received the call from the system and you won't get any further calls

    Thanks Retepnosnikta,
Tried the * followed by # but system keeps calling.

When I listen to the calls there is a lot of background noise and no distinct beeps. The only beeps I hear is when the call hangs up. No time to enter anything after them.I tried during the noise, before, during and after the beeps but the calls keep coming.

Maybe some thing needs to be changed in the program
    or the GSM ?

    On the GSM
BER is 99 and RSSI 16.
    Is that signal ok?

    Thanks

Ok as soon as all the squelching sounds stops and you hear silence press # and *. What you're hearing is a modem looking for an acknowledgement response. Put your mobile on hands free and bring up the keypad. It's easier to listen for the silence.

Glad I have that sorted now.
    Thanks again Retepnosnikta,

You've all the control you need of your alarm now remotely on your mobile phone. If you have an input on your GSM dialer you can hook it up to the output on your Simon and have it text you when there's an alarm activation.
