Do you know where I can check what are the building regulations regarding stone cladding your house. I want to stone clad a part of my house and was wondering if there was any building regulations around this. Perhaps, they require me to put in a moisture barrier or something.

Can the cladding be treated like an external leaf or is it fixed directly to the external leaf?

Well the house was built a number of years ago. It has a painted rendered finish. On top of a mixture of cavity wall and poured concrete. So it won't be treated like an external leaf.
