Similar enough. I don't think I had a 140 although that may be down to selective memory.

Started playing around 2 months at a local municipal course. Pretty forgiving, perfect place to get to grips with the game. Never really counted scores. Joined first real local club only a few weeks ago and was first time playing a "real" golf course. Excellent fast greens , unforgiving rough etc. Just handed in three cards myself, 101, 104, 101. Course par is 72.

Took my 15 year old out for the first card for his handicap last weekend he had a 164 (66 out 98 Back) including a 25 at one hole on the plus side he had two Pars which he was chuffed about. It was his first time playing a full 18 and you could clearly see from his score when tiredness started to take its toll. Its a marker that he can only improve from as I explained too him!! :):)
