Alot of this will come down to personal preference and what you value more.

Coming from a Golf already then it may be very hard to go to an i30 because the i30 doesn't have the attention to detail that you would be familiar with in the Golf. You may also find the i30 missing the perception of quality that comes with the Golf, things like the solid weight and clunk of the doors along with the higher grade and textured plastics will make the Golf feel more upmarket.
