Quickest way to clear weeds

The back garden in my house is in a fairly desperate state - long story short there's poorly laid paving stones (dropped straight onto grass/muck; no underlay, sand/cement, grouting etc) which makes it a haven for thick and deeply-rooted weeds.

When we moved in first I cleared it out by hand and have tried to keep on top of it - but after being too busy over the last month or two it's effectively back to square one and I haven't the heart to spend another day breaking my back clearing it all again.

Early next year I plan on lifting the whole thing and doing a proper job, but until then I'm looking for the easiest way of culling it and returning it to its concrete-grey glory... (In other words, what chemical(s) should I be dousing the place with?)

There's nothing growing out there that I want to keep (the only exception being the dog, but we can keep him away from it for the best part of a day if needs be) so I don't have to worry about collateral damage, once the weapon of choice does the job.

    Thanks

Roundup will do what you want.

Lets the weeds grow 3 -4 inches & spray with roundup. Leave them for 2 to 3 weeks to ensure it's reached the roots. During this time spray any new weeds.

Then dig out the dead weeds & spray every two weeks - no longer.
