An order I placed last week on amazon shipped last night. Checked my bank account today and there's a difference between my actual balance and available balance of about twice what I'd expect the order to cost after currency exchange. Iv checked the order and I defo only ordered each item once. Is this normal?? Iv ordered from them before but this order is about 280 odd quid so twice that is a tad more noticeable than previous orders!

Live Chat with them on their website and they should refund you if they charged you twice.

Amount probably "reserved" and then charge made. The reserved amount falls off at end of day.

If above happens the "available amount" on an account looks like two payments were taken.

It may be bank specific as I've seen this happen with ptsb debit cards a couple of times with customers of mine ordering from me.

Check again tomorrow - also check transaction history.
