Sky Eir or Vodafone for broadband?

    Hi

I am researching above. I want a simply broadband package.

I have called into Eir and Vodafone and they are doing the hard sell. Both are saying their product is better than the other in that it won't be shared with neighbours.

It won't be ffth so I get the feeling they are telling me fibs.
From what I know Eir own the line and it has to be rented out to other suppliers like vodafone and sky. So I would imagine there is no difference in the product.

Vodafone are 40 p/m for just broadband.
Eir are 45 p/m. (Increases after 18 months)
Sky are 45 p/m (increases after 12 months)

Vodafone seem to be the obvious option.

    Thanks

Does that include the price increase w/ Vodafone? The standalone product was brought up to match the price of with phone recently.

The service is the same, bar:
Customer care (Sky win there, Eir now stay open all night)
Modem (Eir good, vodfone poor, sky poor(unless changed))
Routing (Sky sometimes are a bit wonky here, matters to gamers)

Sales reps love to say their product is different locally, technically COMREG should spank them for this as that implies OpenEir are breaking the regulations.

Vodafone simply works fine for me
.Meath..brutal reviews for EIR ..never tried it as yet ..Vodafone increased lately from 35 to 40

Can someone tell me what is the difference between siro and all these other broadband rollouts.

Eir seem to be doing their thing.
Then Siro seem to be doing something through esb lines and ducts and are partnered with vodafone.

So does it make a difference who you go with?

Eir resell OpenEir FTTH, Vodafone resell SIRO which they part own. They're entirely independent networks but use the same technology. Neither have a large footprint yet so hard to call who's built it out/manage it better.

If you are into sport, going with eir gets you BT sport and a few extra sports channels. Maybe worth a consideration if you are into sport?

It is no good unless you can watch them on the tv. Getting an evision box with eir means your download speeds lose out as you have to stream all the tv you watch. You couldn't rely on it. It would be a pain to watch if the connection was unreliable as well.

I thought about Eir but Vodafone are €5 cheaper per month. Also no guarantee that Eir will hold onto the BT channels.

We got it to register with sky and channel is no longer scrambled on sky. Good luck with what ever you choose.
Had vodafone 2 years ago and wouldn't go back. Customer service drove me mad!
Thinking of moving to imagine lte. ...
