Doing a bit for a neighbour. Have all my own gear. How much should I charge? Would like it to be a fair price rather than charging a fortune or half nothing. Is it per hour or per acre?

Contractors around here charge €8/acre for big rakes.

I got a neighbour (contractor) to row in 6 acres with a hay Bob back in 2003 120 pounds he charged back then. His hay Bob didn't see any of my fields since.

The bit I did was 4 acres in total. Tedded it and rowed it up. Took about 2 hours altogether. Going by what ye are saying I should be looking for at least €60. It kinda seems a bit much to me for 2 hours? Am I wrong?

@ 5 acres an hour, surely. The tractor is only ticking with a hay Bob.

Don't think you could run a tractor for any less than 30 /hour without any implement.

Are you saying it costs €30/hr to run a tractor or that you should be getting €30/hr for running a tractor?

Does it not depend a lot on what your running...? A tedder on a 35 wont cost much ,plus 10 or 15 an hour for the man ..
The same tedder on a 120 hp tractor ?? God knows ...
Go with what the lads above said as a rate per acre, sounds fair ...
