So met a guy from tinder last week. Seems like we really click and plan on meeting again this weekend, however got some major news in work this week which looks like I'm going to be made redundant in the next few months. This has turned my life upside down the last few days as I really love where I work☹️ Have the delimma, do I tell the guy now or leave it for a while or just leave him go? Really messed up here.

Tell him. Why stop a potential relationship due to work issues?
If he knows and understands then between you both you can plan less costly activities than expensive nights out, instead you can plan walks or hikes and just enjoying each other's company.

Yes there's a risk he mightn't want what he sees as the hassle, but that is a great way to find out early on if he's a keeper or just out for some fun...

On the redundancy check with your work for assistance in finding new roles either internally or with consultancy agents, many companies offer this type of service to their soon to be ex-employees.

You've only just met this guy. I wouldn't be telling him until you really think that there is a relationship between you. It's none of his business so why put it out there?

I'd leave it go for a couple of weeks, at least until you've had the chance to get your head around the situation yourself.

On the redundancy, as Taltos said, see what supports your company will offer you. Mine organised a CV/interview course when I was made redundant. I know it's scary now but it's not the end of the world, trust me. You could end up in an even better place to work. Start applying for jobs straight away.

Sorry to hear about the job issue OP, but as the redundancy is a few months away it gives you time to suss out the job market - which seems to have got a lot better in the last year or so.

From your post, you might only be meeting him for the second time this weekend, so your still both seeing how much chemistry & connection is there.
I dont see any issue in telling him your news, its not end of the world news and it can happen to anyone. You may even have a better job in few months.

If you wanted you could hold off telling him for another week or two to see how the dates go and if you get any more info on the redundancy.

Good luck with the date and the job hunting further down the line.

I would let him know sooner rather than later. No big drama about it, but is would be good for him to know as it could explain your mood , availability for dates, financial limitations, etc.

Redundancy could be the best thing that ever happened to you, came out of nowhere to me earlier this year and I've never been happier. Opportunity knocked and I got an amazing job I would never have considered before. Look at this as a new beginning, this guy could be part of that
