Hi. I've been asked by a non-computer using relative to find a hotel for them at the end of August. I've been looking but finding it hard to find what they want.

Something in a town or village, close to pier or beach walk, casual relaxed place, 100 per night for both of them (incl brekkie). It's taking ages trying to find something on all the booking websites, mainly because I'm not familiar with the smaller towns in cork.

I did see one in aihilles but I think they'd rather be closer to cork town and not add the extra 2hr+ journey

Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you are looking at €100 per night per room (as opposed to person) then you'd be limited in your choice of hotels. Might be worth looking at the Round Tower Hotel in Ardmore? http://www.roundtowerhotel.ie/
I know it's in Waterford but less than an hour drive to Cork, close to the beach and cliff walk. The village itself is nice enough. Round tower to visit, mini golf.

I think €100 per room incl breakfast in August is a very tall order. I think they'll need to up the budget a bit.

You could try the Quality Hotel in Youghal. It's right on the beach and a pleasant beach walk into town. There's also a Quality Hotel in Clonakilty. There's isn't really a beach at Clonakilty, but a 10 minute drive brings you to Inchydonney, one of the best beaches in the country.

Kinsale is a lovely town but I would think €100 per person would be more realistic. Actons is right on the waterfront and very close to the town. Cobh might be a little cheaper, it's not as pretty, but is very close to Cork and Fota if that would interest them.

Can you narrow it down to what towns perhaps.

Out of the top of my head

Baltimore is a great spot for all. Not sure about the 100pp but they could always try the top of the hill hostel and get a private room.

Clonakilty is another spot.

Bnb by Blackrock in Cork City.
