It still breaks my heart that this wonderful man is no longer with us. Feeling very nostalgic as it would have been his birthday the other day.

Apologies if there's another thread on this topic but just wondering what is your favourite Robin Williams film? I discovered "What Dreams May Come" a few days after his sad passing and I have to say it shook me.

Watching it again tonight and curious of other not so well known favourites that he was in??

Great film great actor too so sad such a funny man was in so much pain and despair at his end.

One hour photo was one of his best.

Thing with Williams is that he had such incredible range, one which so many others just don't have.

There was his manic comedy acting, his absolutely insane comedic timing (watch any of his live stuff and it's incredible), then his sombre melancholic performances (What Dreams May Come, Good Morning Vietnam), his proper acting chops (Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society), and then to turn it completely on it's head and be the perfect villain in Insomnia and One Hour Photo.

Not to even mention World's Greatest Dad.

We won't ever get an actor like him.

Death to Smoochy often goes under the radar. He is absolutely nuts in it.

If you have Netflix, they have pbs's Robin Williams Remembered. It's a celebration of his life and works. On my to watch list. It's highly rated.

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

I thought that one wasnt great, the script seemed to lack authenticity, like it was written by someone who didnt understand the pop culture they were dealing with, I wanted to like it

theres a recent JRE podcast with Bobcat Goldthwait(director of above) and he goes into some detail about Robin, apparently he had a brain condition that effected his thinking, and it got bad near the end which is probably why Robin chose to end his life before it became a lot worse

The majority of his films are class, but personally Hook will always be my favourite.

Garp. Rarely gets mentioned but he was perfect for that role. When you read the book you cannot think of anyone playing the part other than him.

I got to see his home in San Francisco(just outside it), it was down at China Beach in San Francisco. he wasnt a typical 'Hollywood star'. I think the public there let him do his own thing and didnt bother him. the guy who drove me to the beach had met him before and offered to buy him a drink , his response was "If I have that drink I wont remember the next 2 days", he didnt realise he was an alcoholic!

The vast majority of his films are garbage.
