A facelift of the previous model, never sold new here so more than likely a JDM import. Civic mechanicals so no issue there.

I've had a '05 Stream (1.7l petrol) for a few years now. It's the previous model and an Irish car.
I replaced the clutch at just over 200k kms but apart from that it's been faultless. Up to 212k kms now and still going and there's been no change in fuel economy.

Tax seems incredibly low for it being 2008, I'd imagine it's more than that. Insurers will not want to touch it, parts for engine will be easily available but the rest could be a pain.

Ok. But why do insurance companies have a dislike to these type cars ?

Easy to steal as most have no immobilizer and if they are crashed parts are hard to source so repairs are expensive.

I almost bought one in black.I thought it was lovely with its blacked out windows and loads of interior space.

The wife said we'd look like fcukin undertakers driving around town,so that was the end of that.

Went for the CRV in the end.Love it.

My workmate has a Stream... white with golden badges, imported. Will ask him on monday. I think it's 2 litre auto.

Dad had one a few years back. From what I remember it drank like a fish when fully loaded and the back roads in rural ireland weren't kind to it's suspension setup. I think we replaced 3 shock absorbers.

Nice to drive other than that. Engine was reliable.

Irish insurance companies dislike anything that isn't a 1l Micra. Friend got one in from Japan a couple of years ago, after getting an Estima in before, lovely car but a nightmare to insure now. He really struggled to get a quote.

We were looking at a few..especially the RSZ auto with paddle shift.
All of them will be jap imports. Some we viewed had signs of repaired crash damage.
Insurance was not high but mental. cheapest quote was €980 tpft.

Lol neighbors across the street where i live bought one few days ago import since no plates only written number on windshield, seen it trough the window and thought what a nice hatch, but when went online to look what sort of model it was couldn't find it,first its real small thus looks like jazz or Odyssey which are mostly in states, thus took good while to figure out, since previous stream's would been quite large in size and had them civic headlights thus this never model def looks unique and more compact.

Auto gearbox is a bit disappointing but if there's ones with shift paddles quite a minivan to have then, since at close look given size as mentioned its more of hatch look it has,and haven't seen any prior which is quite surprise since they are more then few years out now.

Not so, ive been looking at them as am about to buy one, they all come with alarm/immobilzer. Our insurance company is 123.ie, they said once its been registered and comes up on their system, they have no issues insuring imports

Remember looking at one when my kids were small (many moons ago), Couldn't understand why there was literally zero of them on the road (would see 1 or 2 a year). Reckoned it was because they were a six seater, with only 2 seats in the second row, so you had to use the third row if you wanted to carry 3 kids.
