That can't be right surely, insurance companies have a licence to print money and there is no way they could go broke!?!?!

    /serious face

Wrightway underwriting would be heavily in the fleet / courier / haulage business, I've never heard of this particular company but its a warning to people taking policies with unregulated insurers such as Setanta.

When something sounds too good to be true, be it price or benefits, then it probably is.

Hopefully the MIBI won't get stiffed with the bill like they did with Setanta.

From the company website it says that the cover is still in force but I'd urge anyone that may have a policy with them to get it cancelled and request a refund for the remaining premium asap.

This seems to be a standard thing now. Companies registered in Gibraltar and Jersey absolutely undercutting the market to take in quick premiums and then bailing when it inevitably fails. Same with setanta and there's a few other companies selling products underwritten by similar operations

They are not any longer and I don't believe Enterprise had involvement in that aspect of the business.

I was with them via my broker. Broker was quick off the mark and got me sorted with another provider the same day they notified me. Unfortunately a more expensive policy for the remainder of my term. I did get a refund of unused portions. Wonder how this impacts no claims bonus, any thoughts?

A cancelled policy would in effect cancel the ncb earned for that period, right?

I'm beyond the upper limit anyway so not expecting a further negative impact.

    Your Ncb won't be affected.

    Your Ncb won't be affected.

It will in the sense that anybody with Enterprise won't get a NCB year for that year, it's fine for anyone with 5+ but a bit of a pain in the arse for anybody with 4 or under.

    From Patrona Underwriting

    Dear Broker,

Patrona Underwriting Limited are pleased to advise that if placing a risk with us where the last insurer is Enterprise Insurance PLC through Wrightway, and there are 4 or less months to run to renewal, you may accept the risk as if a full year had been earned for NCD and acceptance purposes on production of:
    • The last Proof of NCD issued by either Wrightway or a previous insurer
    • A signed statement from the policyholder stating that they have had no accidents or claims in the current Enterprise policy period.
For example, if you placed a risk with Wrightway In September 2015 with 2 years earned NCD, you may place that risk on cover with us now with a 3 year NCD.

Please note this refers to earned NCD in the policyholder’s own name on the same vehicle as the one you are placing with us. We will not accept conversion of any “mirrored” NCD. Mirrored NCD is NCD granted because the proposer also had another vehicle insured elsewhere.
