Anyone else feel that the use of "RIP" on messageboards and the like is a lazy and insincere way of passing on one's condolences? I see a lot of folks use "Rip" - what does that mean?

Why can't the internet people take the time to write a proper message of condolence? It doesn't have to be an obituary but something a little more than just RIP.

On the other hand, it's just a way of acknowledging a death, so no harm is being done really.
