Hi RJF, unsure on how to upload a video clip, the pump stopped making the load noise but now it is not working, the metal part has become hot to the touch and I turned it off last night.

Generally speaking pumps should not be making strange loud noises and cutting out.
Can you find the model name / number on the data plate.
Luckily most pumps are repairable, hopefully yours will be and not too expensive.

The model is a MQ3-35, hope it is repairable, 500 for a new one.

Grunfos have good and reasonably priced repair service, enquire at your plumbing supplier.

Had an issue with a grundfos pump recently. the pump was lying idle for a few weeks and when we returned the pump would not come on. It was making a humming sound as if it wanted to start but was jammed. Rang up grundfos based in Dublin and they had a plumber out the following day. They have a call out charge of €95. The plumber had it sorted in no time, said it was because of the hard water build up in the pump.
