Is there no bus service from the bus station anymore? It was a bit unclear. Yes, I think now the train is the best as J J Kavanaghs goes only a few times a day

The Bus Eireann Clonmel/Cork bus(007) used to serve Athy but that now goes non stop to Kilkenny and Clonmel.

Do you have to book in advance with Irish Rail?

Is the price correct? Single ticket is €16 and return €18 that is a big difference in price

you can book in advance online or by telephone or pay at the station, The return tickets are usually just a small bit dearer than the single.
