Stobart Air Flying without Livery?

Hey, flew ORK - MAN this morning, and just waiting to board the return flight now. The plane in both directions (not sure if it was the same plane) has no livery, it's plain white with just the markings at the back and a simple Stobart Air logo on the door.

Is this the norm now? I seem to recall that they're usually done up in Aer Lingus colours, has this changed?

No doubt someone will be here shortly to give you the official story, but my guess is that's a lease.
If you had the reg we could confirm.

There are a number of Stobarts in an all white scheme that can be used as wet lease aircraft. They can also fill in across the fleet brands. For instance there was a time when Stobarts where in EI colours, Cityjet and Flybe colours.

If you were on the 0850 flight this morning (EI3120) it was one of the newer aircraft; EI-FMK delivered on 18/12/2015. There is a hire in currently in use which is nearly 22 years old so count yourself lucky!

They have two ATR-42's which according to airfleets first flew in 1990. So 26 years young. I worked with older airframes then that and the dispatch reliability was excellent once they were well maintained which they always were. Also still economically very viable to operate and some hence still so many flying especially now in the feeder cargo market where the yield vs cost is a great draw for carriers.

Yeah as mentioned there is one aircraft EI-FMK which is kept in white so it can be used on lease to other franchise airlines and not just Aer Lingus

I don't see why the age of the aircraft is important. Its not like a car. All aircraft undergo extensive checks regularly. For instance Deltas oldest MD88 first started flying when Ronald Reagan was US President and flew from Atlanta to Pittsburgh today.

EI-FSK which operated the OP's return flight is all white too.

I had LY-DAT from Dublin to the Isle of Man both ways last weekend.

This is wet leased from Danish Air Transport and is all over white with no logos.

May I ask who operates this ? EI regional crew? Or Danish air crew ?

    Wet lease includes crew.

A few years ago I used Aer Lingus Regional to Southend, flight was operated by LY-MCA from Dano Oro Transportas of Lithuania and the crew consisted of two pilots and a flight attendant from DOT and one "flight ambassador" from Aer Lingus Regional. The aircraft was in great condition despite being 25 years old, very comfortable and smart looking cabin.

It still operates for Aer Lingus Regional now and again, it's in an all white livery with blue engines. It's actually in operation with Stobart at the moment, covering the Flybe routes from Southend.

Makes sense to have a few white aircraft available to move around when needed.

I count 5 out of 17 listed aircraft that are white. But I'm unsure if REI/REH are still in use.

Found this pic of REH at Mochengladbach with it's reg blacked out and stripped of it's props. What happened next is anyone's guess

Cheers for the pic. They both must be gone. Not bad machines when we were allowed use the fwd door. Rumour was they were bought by the company as it would have been more expensive to re engine them and return to the Leasing Company than buy them outright!
