I have downloaded the HKC Securecomm app and HKC have informed me that I can have the app added to my other half's phone by adding my account to her phone, so she can download the app.

Only issue I have is that I'm not clear on how this is done or what impact it will have on her phone... last thing I want is to have any issues with her phone and apps etc if we do this.

So can anyone guide me through the process?

    I've gone to Settings>Accounts>Add Account>Google
When I click on this to add my account to my wife's phone, I have two options:
    1. Sign in to get the most out of your device
    2. Or create a new account

When she clicks on create a new account, it tells her that my email address already exists (obviously)

    So my simple query is:
Should she sign in using my details? Is that the way my account gets added to her phone?

    If so...what happens next?
Does it start syncing all my mails to her phone?
Will my apps start installing on her phone automatically or can she just choose which ones to download (in this case only the HKC app)?

How do I then remove my account from her phone?

Thanks in advance. I know for most of you this is probably very basic... :p

You can certainly do the above. I share a google play account with someone and we don't get each others emails. She'll need to enter the google account pass whenever she wants to download something though from your accound. Maybe you don't want to share your google password?

Yes you just add your account to her phone and let her sign in from your account. From then on in google play she can chose between your account and her own to download something and she'll have free access to everything you purchase.
Turn off sync on your account on her phone.
She'll only get the apps she choses to download, not all of yours.

If you don't want to share accounts there is another way. You can send the apk(installer package for that app) over to her phone from yours and install it on her phone. No need for shared accounts then.
You use this app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ext.ui&hl=en
Open the above app, find the app you want to send in the list it creates, click it and an option to share will appear, click send via bluetooth to her phone and click install on it when it arrives. You'll be asked to click a box saying "install from unknown sources", click it and then ok and it'll be installed on her phone.
It only takes 1 min, nothing fancy or complicated involved.
