PdC is no distance (about 10 kms) from the airport, get a taxi. About 15 mins and €20.

Search this forum for 'Lanzarote' and sort the posts by date, there's plenty of advice floating around. It's a very casual, family friendly place so don't worry about being underdressed anywhere.

    And it's 'Puerto'.

I found the best child friendly beaches were at Papagayo, https://www.tripadvisor.ie/Travel-g652121-c110898/Playa-Blanca:Lanzarote:Papagayo.Beaches.html The 3rd picture down the little cover, it's a beautiful beach with warm, calm and clear water, great for a paddle or a snorkel, perfect for the young lads, wear some shades or the mrs will bop you, it's full of tanned locals not pasty tourists.
You'll need to get a car to get there as those beaches are accused through a dirt road. There's a little restaurant bar on the cliff at them, not much else out there but the beach is worth the trip.
I'd highly recommend getting a car as you can do a lot of tips yourself in an hour or two rather than being stuck on a bus all day looking at volcano rock, cars are very cheap to rent.
Can't tell you anything about the nightlife as I had the kids.

I am just back. I have two kids 13 and 6.

Against advice, we hired a car. 200 cash for two weeks, no credit card required, and paid on collection. On a recommendation from boards travel forum, used Omnicars. I like driving and we explored the whole island. Was well worth it.

I personally was not pushed on PDC. But with the car we didn't stay put. We went go-carting three times. Took a drive up to the one by the airport and didnt like the look of it so went up to the one in San Bartholomew. (spelling). Was the dogs proverbials !!! Went back two more times. Quite reasonable and had parent/child cars. If you book by phone, I think they will pick you up.

We took a coach tour of the island and it was ok, took us to pretty much everywhere worth seeing. I hold a full motorcycle licence, so my daughter and I went on an organised rideout on a Harley 1100. Two bikes plus a leader for half a day. I booked the bike tour, the coach tour and go karting in one place and after jarring him up a bit, he gave me a discount on the bike tour and a free pass for one of his family-bicycle car things - flintstones style.

Was a good holiday but I was a bit bored. Not a huge amount there but you may find different.

Thats all I can think of but feel free to come back to me with any questions you have.

    Enjoy it !

Go to Chica beach and bring a few bread rolls with you to feed the fish. You can safely go snorkeling with the kids there. They should love it. No need for flippers, the mask and snorkel each is enough.

Lanzarote is a grand beach holiday destination, the beaches are lovely, no do's and don'ts really, it's a relaxed chilled family resort,
The water park in Teguise is a fun day out, the volcano tour is also worth it, take a camel ride on the way back from the volcano tour, you can take a catamaran from Puerto Calero down to Playa Blanca / Papagayo, lunch, beer & wine included, you can take a short 15 minute Rib ride out of the harbour in PDC which is fun, there is also Rancho Texas for a day, otherwise it's really just a chill out destination, ideal for families

Taxi's are cheap enough but I'd also recommend hiring a car
