Replacing gas with induction and looking around there are so many choices in terms of size, gadgets etc. I was advised to avoid the 5 ring ones as using the big one renders the others difficult to use. Some have sensors for boiling over etc.
Can anyone give any experience with using them and how you find them ?

I you have an 800mm space then get a five ring. You don't need it very often but when you do it's invaluable. I have this Siemens one:

    http://www.siemens-home.bsh-group.com/uk/productlist/cooking/hobs/EH875MP17E?breadcrumb=hobs

It seems to be the exact same under the cover as the equivalent Neff version. The instruction booklets are the exact same. I was going to get the Neff but the shop I got them from was able to do a deal on the Siemens. I've never used the zone on the right as a single zone, only as two seperate zones. But it still fits two large pots on that side, one massive pan in the middle and one medium and one small pan on the left. I've never had an issue with fitting pans on it that I needed to use. There's no way you'l be cooking with five large pots at the same time.

The timer function is very useful because you can set each zone to it's own time so it's very handy for rice an pasta because you know the second the clock runs out the pan stops boiling.
