What are your thoughts on this ?

I thought it might work, was dubious about how harsh the oven cleaner would be on the lacquer.

But my jaw dropped when i saw what he used to SCRUB the wheels

    EEEHHHH, Nope!!

Might as well be using sandpaper instead of the scouring pad!

I think I'll stick to autoglym wheel cleaner , a wheel brush, and a regular hose, and wash not.

Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel if you are struggling to get your wheels looking well.

Oven cleaners are usually caustic which is really bad for aluminium. Using it on wheels where the lacquer is damaged would cause quite a bit of damage.

CarPro IronX is what I have used in the past and it's great at removing brake dust, doesn't harm or peal the lacquer off either. Strong odor from it and turns a purple colour after about 5 or 10 mins which means it's doing it's job.

Made that mistake, came back from holidays after buying a lot of cleaning products from cleanmycarcar.co.uk opened the box in my bedroom and went to open IronX as it says cherry and i love the smell of cherry, i took 5days for the odour to remove from my room, that stuff stinks but "does what it says on the tin"
