    Hi all,

I've applied for an aircraft mechanic apprenticeship and have made it through the aptitude test. I've been called for an interview and manual dexterity test next week. I was wondering if any of ye knew what the dexterity test usually involves? or is there a way I can practice for it? Thanks.

    Read from post 78 on.
Bear in mind you will have to display a capacity for problem solving, even if you don't finish within the permitted time.

Take your time with it, don't worry about the time limit.

If there are instructions, read them first, and meticulously, and keep referring back to them.

If there are parts to be put together in particular, you should make sure all the required parts are there before you start.

The biggest thing I would say is read the instructions carefully!! If you realise that you have made a mistake, it may not be best to rip it apart and start again, they will judge you on the finished piece and something is better then running out of time with a box full of pieces!

They will judge who followed instructions,if somebody managed to build a piece with a few bits wrong they will be harshly marked compared to someone who even quarter built something correctly.

Not necessiarly!! When I did mine years ago we were specifically told at the start if you make a mistake, depending how much time has passed it may be better to keep going!! Just me 2 cents from my own experience, feel free to ignore!!
