Leycesteria -- pheasant berry, himalayan honeysuckle/nutmeg/fuchsia etc. Not a threat at all but it does seed a lot. Grows quickly and will fill a gap - tall, hollow stems with drooping white flowers and (later on) berries.

It just loves being cut back, like ribes and buddleia it will say, oh thank you so much, look how fast I can grow. I had to remove a thicket from my garden recently - it all started with a twig brought back from some woodland. Pretty, and the birds love the berries, but you will lose your garden to it!

That is exactly what I have observed :-)

Have a few I am going to cut away fully and just leave two of them.

    Thanks!
