Great start to this - a 4-1 win against France.

Lost 2-1 in the Gilbert though, and it looks like we're not going to get to see our Robinson and Stokes teams live - a consequence of the extra two teams (England B and France) taking up the few live boards.

Ireland won 2:1 in the Gilbert vs France.
The result of board 2 was incorrectly recored initially and subsequently corrected.

chess-results.com is carrying the results too.

Here's the Stokes, and there's links for the other sections too. I think it's being live-updated - Ireland are 3-1 up against Scotland at the moment for example, having lost narrowly against France in the morning. Also beat France in the Robinson. Ratings-wise, the French team matches ours, so an excellent result. I've no idea if it's their strongest team though.

The French team all come from the Paris chess club.
Their Glorney team have 3 2000 plus players and a 1995.
There three other teams are also very strong for Glorney

It's been a good day for the four Irish teams
Glorney lead by 0.5 from Scotland with France third. England appear weaker than normal this year. We have already played and beaten France and Scotland
Robinson lead by 1 point from England after two solid wins today. Wales up next in the morning.
Stokes trail England and France by 1.5 points but had a big 5.1 win over Scotland this afternoon.
our Gilbert team have won both their matches but trail England by two as England d have a 100% record over the boards.

Looks like we've drawn with England in the Glorney - means we finish ahead of England I think, and we're now just waiting to see how France get on. They're 1-0 up against Scotland.

Edit - 2bts earlier said 2½ was the minimum that would guarantee victory, and we seem to have that with wins for Luke and Scott, and a draw for Henry. So presuming no technical glitches (as we've had before), we've retained the title. Well done!

Ireland have retained the Glorney, by at least 1 point from France, and are half a point away from Clinching the Robinson, in a winner takes all match still in play. A draw means Ireland retain the Robinson

France have won the Stokes (U12) with Ireland third

England won the Gilbert, with Ireland second

Ireland win the Robinson beating England 3.5 2.5
