Combining dishwasher and washing machine waste

Hi All,

I have a washing machine & dishwasher which have no trap on the waste lines, I'd like to add a trap but want to make sure its not going to cause any problems.

That will do the job fine, cheap and easy.
Just ensure it is accessible if cleaning is required.

Great thanks, I was just worried about it backing up if both emptied at the same time, definitely over thinking it. Yea it will hang just below the back of the unit so the kicker board can clip off and it can be unscrewed for cleaning.

I need a slight offset in the waste pipe to get the waste pipe flush to the wall behind the dishwasher, this will allow this to happen too.
