Web access to HIKvision CCTV service from my PC

Been a bit distracted lately so don't know when I lost access to the DVR that I have up stairs.

I changed my BB service from virgin to eir in March last and I don't remember if I have had PC access since:eek: Service also gone on the android tablet

I have the HIKvision web access code in the format xxx.xxx.x.xx:xx
but it says server not found.
I have the password for it and also can access the eir router

AFAIR, I had to configure the virgin router in some way to allow access to the xxx.etc listed above when I first set up the system

    Thanks as always

you need to open the port on your router

for hikvision its normally port 80 and 8000

aso make sure the dvr is on a correct static ip address since you switched providers the ip address range might have changed

See if you can hit locally with the ports dunworth1 listed..

    Then open the port/s..

Though I suspect that you had the DVR set up statically and the local LAN subnet/gateway has changed since you changed providers..

Thanks, this is what I had to do the last time, I recognise the language :)
I will give it a shot
This is what is there now
    DHCP Range: 192.168.1.1 - 200

I need to change the .1.1 to something else to match XXX. etc I have

80 and 8000, which is the one I need are both shut.

It looks like you were going to your DVR via an IP address and port. If so you need to forward that port to the internal IP address of the DVR.
Also bear in mind that your public IP address has probably changed with your new provider.
You can check your public IP address at www.whatismyip.com
You can check your port forwarding at www.canyouseeme.org

On the network settings screen on the dvr can you see the ip address of the dvr should look like 192.168.1.??

Type that into a web browser and see can you gain access to the dvr by putting in your password

If you can access it on your network then you can start trying to set up viewing remotely

    # Active-Service Name-External Start Port-External End Port-Internal Start Port-Internal End Port-Server IP Address
    1-User Define
    8000
    8000
    8000
    8000
    192.168.0.65

Is what I have put in and set Firewall to low but still no joy:
I got the IP address from the DVR and if I put it in in the web browser it brings me to the eir router login screen.
    Thanks
    ps WAN interface PVC0

    DHCP Range is : 192.168.1.1 - 200

Will this allow for 192.168.0 ?

so if you put in 192.168.0.65 it brings you to the eir login page?

that ip address should be the one that you open the port to

if the dvr is pointing at 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.0.254 you'll need to change it
to something else as it'll be conflectin with the eir router.

    examle...

    eir router 192.168.0.254
    dvr 192.168.0.200

and the set the ip address for the port forward to 192.168.0.200

    Thanks
192.168.0.65 and 192.168.1.254 both bring me to the router login page
192.168.0.65 is what is on the dvr as per post 10 above
and to log in before I just made it
    192.168.0.65:88

Virgin/UPC - Your previous ISP internal LAN was 192.168.0.0/24
Eircom - Current ISP Internal LAN is 192.168.1.0/24

You need to change the network settings on the DVR to match your new internal network..

You mentioned that the DHCP Range is 192.168.1.1 - 200

Then set the DVR statically out of this Range, lets say
    IP Address 192.168.1.201
    Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
    Gateway 192.168.1.254

If it asks for DNS, lets try opendns
    208.67.222.222 -> Primary
    208.67.220.220 -> Secondary

Once the above is complete, then test to see can you hit it internally.

Not sure if you do you see it through a browser, if so
    in a browser enter
    192.168.1.201:88

Or open a cmd prompt and
    ping 192.168.1.201

Once you can hit internally, then proceed to open the port to the outside
Posts 6 & 7 will help you do this..
