As a guy who got an A2 in honors bio last year (and thinks he got an A1 this year), don't waste your money. Biology is the purest rote learning course on the leaving cert. It can't really be taught by grinds, it's simply a matter of familiarity and memorization. If your daughter goes through the whole book and works her way through the past papers through out the summer, she'll be miles ahead of everyone else.

You could contact the Student's Union in University College Cork and they may have a list of students giving grinds.

Thanks for your input. We're trying to build up her confidence so are getting grinds in 3 harder subjects plus biology but will keep take onboard what youve said.

Look into the DARE scheme for reduced points entry to college. Absence from school because of ongoing illness would qualify. www.accesscollege.ie
